INTERVIEWS

During an interview with a restaurant owner, who sold Indonesian snacks mainly in her restaurant. Called Roti Bakar. It is bread cooked with griller. Then usually topped with sugar. Although in her restaurant there are many toppings choice with can be chosen from including tropical fruits like durian or pineapple. According to my interview though, the most sold out topping or foods are the Roti Bakar which uses a mixture of cheese and chocolate while the for the main course would be Nasi Goreng. Nasi Goreng could also use many additions such as cow meat, goat's meat, vegetables and many others depends on the preferences. The restaurant are mostly based on Indonesian food which is from the Java island.

In the interview with the Indonesian chef, he has work across and around Asia. While he was working in Asia, he told me the Indonesian food which was served most often are, sapi penyet, ayam goreng kriuk, since in Indonesia he mostly spent most of his time working in Dapoer Penyet, an Indonesian restaurant. Penyet means grilled and spicy (chilly sauce). He said that in China it was hard to find Indonesian restaurant, Italian restaurant and any other than the Chinese restaurant. This shows that Indonesia is one of the central place in the world to find and get food. This means that other cultures or food from many various countries have come to Indonesia. Indonesia ourselves needs to spread our culture to the outside even more. Nasi Goreng is also one of the most famous Indonesian food amongst the people in Indonesia since it could match any tongues, those who loves spicy, salty or any other tastes. The additions could also defer base on preferences.

Another interview is with Opik. He works in restaurants called Waroeng Boenda which is a Sundanese restaurant, most of the food served there are fried foods since it is the type of food which the people usually ordered. The main food which is served there is called Nasi Timbel. Which is white rice wrapped with coconut leaf. It is haped like a long cylinder. The difference of the taste between usual white rice and Nasi Timbel is it is less mushy. Nasi Timbel can be accompanied with many different types of food such as tahu goreng, tempe goreng, ikan goreng and usually with sop sayur asem on a bowl.
